This new atlas presents a comprehensively illustrated overview of the techniques now routinely employed in the investigation and diagnosis of disorders of the male urogenital system. It is organised by disease rather than procedure, so enabling the reader to review the techniques available and make an informed choice of the tests to be carried out in each case. Topics covered include renal function, UTIs, BP and LUTS, Stone Disease, Erectile Dysfunction and cancers of the prostate, bladder, kidney and testis. For each the authors comment on the utility and correct use of appropriate investigations, including laboratory analyses, blood tests, histopathology, urodynamics and flowmetry, and diagnostic imaging.

This volume will cover many of the most prevalent challenges for the urologist caring for adult congenital patients. The first section of the text will provide a framework for transition to an adult care model as well as a general approach to patients with three of the most common conditions encountered in congenitalism: myelodysplasia, Hypospadias, and exstrophy. The remainder of the text will cover anatomic issues in sexuality, fertitlity and genital issues, lower tract management, as well as upper tract management. Lastly, urological care of the pediatric cancer survivor will also be reviewed. Transition and Lifelong Care in Congenital Urology is a valuable guide for Urologists providing long term care and treatment to patients with congenital anomalies and urological age-related problems. .

Imaging and Technology in Urology: Principles and Clinical Applications is a practical and user-friendly consolidated source book for urologists, and urologists in training, regarding the basic science of imaging modalities used on a day-to-day basis in urological practice. Similarly, the intention is to provide an introduction to the technology that is used in the practice of urological surgery and the management of urological patients in the clinical setting. This knowledge is one of the eight separate disciplines examined in the oral component of the knowledge examination for independent, consultant, practice in urology in the UK. The book is also valuable to urologists and urological trainees outside of the UK and in other surgical specialities.

Nowadays, there is tremendous interest in an integrated imaging approach to urogenital diseases. This interest is tightly linked to the recent technological advances in ultrasound, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, and nuclear medicine. Significant improvements in image quality have brought numerous clinical and diagnostic benefits to every medical specialty. This book is organized in nine parts and twenty-seven chapters. The first six chapters review the normal macroscopic and radiological anatomy of the urogenital system. In subsequent chapters, urogenital malformations, lithiasis, as well as infectious and neoplastic disorders of the kidneys, bladder, urinary collecting system, and male and female genitalia are extensively discussed. The pathologic, clinical, and diagnostic (instrumental and not) features of each disease are described, with particular emphasis, in neoplastic pathologies, on primitive tumors and disease relapse. The statics and dynamics of the pelvic floor are addressed as well and there is a detailed presentation of state-of-the-art interventional radiology. The volume stands out in the panorama of the current medical literature by its rich iconography. Over 1000 anatomical illustrations and images, with detailed captions, provide ample evidence of how imaging can guide the therapeutic decision-making process. Imaging of Urogenital Diseases is an up-to-date text for radiologists, urologists, gynecologists, and oncologists, but it also certainly provides an invaluable tool for general practitioners. Its succinct, well-reasoned approach integrates old and new knowledge to obtain diagnostic algorithms. This information will direct the clinician to the imaging modality best-suited to yielding the correct diagnosis.

Male genital disorders represent a common issue in medical practice, especially in the dermatological setting. Correct clinical evaluation of these disorders is essential when addressing the diagnosis, which in some cases may require histopathological confirmation. Depending on the disease, early diagnosis may be not only lifesaving, but also of fundamental importance to the planning of successful treatment. This atlas introduces the most common penile diseases, along with more rarely encountered ones. It provides invaluable guidance on clinical diagnosis by highlighting prominent clinical features and presenting particular videodermatoscopy findings when these are indicative of the diagnosis. In addition, for each condition the most appropriate treatment is proposed, taking into account recent therapeutic advances of proven benefit.

This book presents a wealth of images of the different diseases and conditions encountered in the field of uroradiology with the aim of enabling the reader to recognize lesions, to interpret them appropriately, and to make correct diagnoses. The images have been selected because they depict typical or classic findings and provide a route to lesion recognition that is superior to memorization of descriptions. The imaging modalities represented include CT, CT angiography, CT urography, MRI, MRA, MRU, diffusion-weighted MRI and ADC mapping, dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI, sonography, conventional angiography, excretory urography, retrograde pyelography, cystography, urethrography, and voiding cystourethrography. For each depicted case, important imaging features are highlighted and key points identified in brief accompanying descriptions. Readers will find that the book provides excellent guidance in the selection of imaging modalities and facilitates diagnosis. It will be an ideal ready source of information on key imaging features of urinary tract diseases for medical students, residents, fellows, and physicians handling these diseases.
